Scrap.edx – Merciless Protraction

2010/02/28

Joshua Colella works out of Jerusalem, to my mind the world’s epicentre of irrationality and this album is about the ongoing and endless strife there.

Tracks like: Orbital Strike Weapon, Where Are You Hiding?, Warheads filled with a Biological Religion etc. reflect that.

The music is starkly industrial with a punk edge.

Some tracks are abstract and arhythmic, at times very abrasive and atonal, others minimalistic and others again very aggro, Flow Dropper contains rap elements.

This album has been put together with great care and the result is an outstanding aural reflection of the total insanity in the Middle East.

A number of tracks are dancable as well, a bonus. 10 out of 10 points.
